FRENCH TEST

The Foreign Language Placement Test for French consists of objective questions as well as a listening component. It will take approximately one hour to complete the examination. The exam is scored at the conclusion of the test session. The scores on the exam range from 0 to 60.

If the French Score Is	The Student Should Enroll In
0-20	FRE 101
21-29	FRE 102
30-44	FRE 122
45-60	See Note*

Students who place in a course higher than 101 can get credit for the course just below the one they place into by making a grade of C or better in the course they take.

* The student may be qualified for a higher level French course (not offered by MTC). Please see your advisor at Midlands Technical College or contact the senior college to which you plan to transfer to enroll in the proper level French course.
