Upon successful completion of this diploma program, the student should be able to:
1. Demonstrate the knowledge and skills to provide a safe Perioperative environment.
2. Demonstrate the knowledge and skills to monitor, assess and provide for the needs of the patient and the surgical team intraoperatively.
3. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of aseptic technique and principles.
4. Demonstrate competency in the use of instrumentation and equipment used intraoperatively.
5. Demonstrate a professional attitude in interactions with other members of the health care team.
6. Demonstrate knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology as it relates to general surgical procedures and commonly performed specialty procedures.
