How To Apply

Applications are available at both of our offices. At the Airport Campus, you may pick one up from the Student Center (ASC), Room 201. If you’re on the Beltline Campus, please come to the Wade Martin Building, Room 236.

If you would prefer to have an application mailed to you, you may request one by calling (803) 822-3032 or e-mailing your name and address to sss@midlandstech.edu.

Please remember that we can only consider applications that are filled out completely and include your signature.
“What’s on the Application?”

The Student Support Services application asks you to provide the following:

  • Contact information
  • Demographic details
  • A summary of your and your parents’ educational backgrounds
  • Your family’s income range
  • An indication of the needs you want SSS to help you address
  • A brief statement of your educational goals
  • A short description of your career plans
  • A signed information release agreement (This authorizes SSS to make appropriate contacts in the effort to serve interested students. Please be assured that all information remains confidential to SSS.)
“When Can I Start?”

Because Student Support Services is dedicated to an ongoing relationship with people as they progress through their education, submitting an application is only the first step toward participation in the program. Before students are selected for SSS, staff review the application, potential participants meet with a counselor, and staff obtain follow-up information. The timetable for this process varies due to factors ranging from the particular needs of an applicant to the number of vacancies in the program. Therefore, some students may not begin with SSS during the same semester they apply to the program.
