Academic Honors

To be eligible for Academic Honors, students must be pursuing a degree, diploma or certificate. A grade of “I”, “NC” or “WF” disqualifies a student from attaining Academic Honors. Zero-level courses (MAT 032, MAT 010, ENG 035, ENG 010, RDG 035 and RDG 010) are not included in the required credit hours since they are not calculated in the student’s Grade Point Average (GPA)

Example:

This student would receive a Part Time Honor Roll certificate.

At the end of each term, Student Records will identify students eligible for the President's List, Scholars' List and Part-time Honor roll and will mail certificates by the fifth week of the following term.

• President's List - Each semester, students who earn a 4.00 grade point average in at least 12 credit hours attempted at Midlands Technical College will be placed on the President's List for that term. A certificate will be issued to the student.
• Scholar's List – Each semester, students who earn a 3.5 – 3.99 grade point average in at least 12 credit hours attempted will be placed on the Scholar's List for that term. A certificate will be issued to the student.
• Part-Time Student Honor Roll – Each semester, students who earn a 3.8 grade point average or above in at least three credit hours but no more than 11 credit hours will be placed on the Part-Time Student Honor Roll. A certificate will be issued to the student.
