Creating a Student Online WebCT Account

Purpose:  Students need to create an Online WebCT account once they have registered through MTC for a class that is categorized as online, hybrid, or web enhanced.  The WebCT account is the first step needed to allow student access to the online portion of those classes.

Note:  Students only need to create one Online WebCT account.   All courses can be added into the same account, and this account can be used for multiple semesters.

STEP ONE

• Open internet browser
• Go to http://courses6.midlandstech.edu
• Click ‘Create Account’ as shown by the circled button below.

STEP TWO

• In the boxes on the open webpage from above, similar to the boxes below, key in the requested information.  Here are some guidelines:

• User name:  enter your User name as your first name followed by your middle initial and your last name all in lower case with no spaces.

• Password: use your birthdate in a mmddyyyy format, such as 04081990 to represent April 8, 1990.

• E-mail:  enter your MTC campus e-mail into the e-mail address box.  Example:  name@mtc.mailcruiser.com.  This e-mail is assigned by MTC when students apply. 

NOTE:  Please write down the User name and Password you use, and keep it in a safe pace. This is the only way to access your course, and is the same Username and password you will use at the testing center for tests and assignments.

STEP THREE

After filling out the form, click on the Save Button. A confirmation similar to the illustration below will be displayed.
