VACANCY #2269 (TEMPORARY GRANT POSITION)

POSITION: Retention Advocate

DEPARTMENT: Developmental Studies

LOCATION: Airport Campus

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: The Retention Advocate (Student Service Program Coordinator II) will be responsible for providing professional counseling services for students identified in the Developmental Studies Student Retention Grant received by Midlands Technical College. Duties will include administering and interpreting the WorkKeys tests and KeyTrain component to the identified students.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work or related field. Must have knowledge of career counseling techniques, good organizational and communication skills, and ability to conduct individual and group counseling sessions. Experience with integrated data management systems preferred.

HIRING RANGE: $30,274-$43,144, Band 05, SC State Classification System. Excellent benefits program that includes: employer provided health, dental, and life insurance; paid holidays; sick and annual leave; and state retirement.
