DEPARTMENT: INFORMATION SYSTEMS TECHNOLOGY
WORK HOURS: Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. LOCATION: BELTLINE CAMPUS
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: MTC invites applications from outstanding candidates for the position of Chair of the Information Systems Department. The college is a comprehensive, public, two-year technical/community college. The college serves students on five campuses. The Information Systems Department employs 16 full-time faculty members. The successful candidate must provide instructional management; personnel supervision, development, and evaluation; curriculum development and assessment; accurate and timely reports for the courses and programs within the department; interact with local employers, and identify and respond to local industry needs. The candidate would be responsible for teaching academic classes within the department. The Information Systems Technology Department is composed of the following areas: Administrative Office Technology, and Computer Technology.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Doctor’s or Master’s degree in Computing or Information Processing or a master’s degree in related field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in computing or information processing. Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills; experience working with diverse academic areas.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of five (5) years post-secondary teaching experience; preferably in a community college.
