POSITION: INSTRUCTOR, COMPUTER PROGRAMMING TECHNOLOGY
DEPARTMENT: Information Systems Technology LOCATION: Airport and Beltline
WORK HOURS: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; may require some evening and weekends
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Teaches, supervises and evaluates students in the Information Systems Technology (IST) Department; participates in curriculum development and revision; assists with academic advising; evaluates students’ progress; keeps accurate records and submits pertinent information on students; participates in faculty meetings and attends college functions; remains active in information technology organizations and attends workshops and other educational offerings in order to continue to upgrade teaching; follows institutional policies, procedures and authority; assists in special projects and maintains good working relations with supervisor and peers; may be required to teach classes at multiple campuses and off-campus sites, including high schools.
QUALIFICATIONS: Successful candidate must possess a Doctorate’s or Master’s Degree in computing or a Master’s degree in a related discipline with concentration in computing (to include a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline). A teaching knowledge of Java, Visual Basic .Net, C#.Net, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, UNIX and networking is required, as well as the ability to keep abreast of new computing technologies. The candidate will be required to demonstrate a successful thirty (30) minute teaching demonstration.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Three (3) years post-secondary teaching experience.
