POSITION: TRADES SPECIALIST IV
HOURS: Morning Shift - Monday thru Friday 6:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
DEPARTMENT: OPERATIONS LOCATION: AIRPORT CAMPUS
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Performs general preventative maintenance such as: change and clean filters in air handling units; clean, grease and oil fans, motors and pumps; monitors and make adjustments to mechanical pumps. Performs general repairs to buildings and plant equipment such as: clean and clears minor stoppage in drains, sinks, sewer lines, toilets and etc; repair electrical switches, receptacles, lights, motors, and etc; repair broken doors, locks, windows, restroom equipment, and etc; paint small areas; Determines minor and major repairs and materials necessary on mechanical systems for maintenance and report findings to supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS: Candidate must have an associate degree and two (2) years directly related work experience; or a high school diploma and four (4) years directly related work experience. Must also have a valid SC Driver’s License and be EPA Certified in CFC Refrigerant Recovery.
Preferred Qualifications: Must be able to use trades and craft tools and equipment including carpentry plumbing, electrical, HVAC. Must be able to lift (50lb) maintenance materials, climb ladders and perform other physical tasks normally associated with maintenance work. Extensive knowledge of state of the art HVAC control systems and the ability to operate a personal computer in conjunction with these controls.
STATE SALARY RANGE: $24,881 - $46,033
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $24,881 – $35,457, Band 4, SC State Classification System. Excellent benefits program that includes: employer provided health, dental, and life insurance; paid holidays; sick and annual leave; and state retirement.
