POSITION: READING/ENGLISH INSTRUCTOR
DEPARTMENT: DEVELOPMENTAL STUDIES
LOCATION: AIRPORT/BELTLINE CAMPUS
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Teaches English, Reading, and College Skills courses; duties also include advising students; curriculum development and assessments; reviewing and updating courses and designing new courses as needed; preparing syllabi and participating in the development and revision of other instructional materials; serving on college committees and performing public service for the department; maintaining an ongoing program of professional development; may be required to teach classes on multiple campuses and off-campus sites, including secondary schools.
QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in English, Reading, or another related field with 18 or more graduate hours in English, Reading, or related field. Demonstrated excellence in teaching, preferably in a community or two-year college dealing with students with diverse academic backgrounds, excellent oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills are desirable.
