The Distance from the New Planet to its Moons

From the work of the students from the first year (1999/2000)

The outer moon Zeus is 6,200 miles from Artemis and Leto is 3,100 miles from Artemis.

From the work of the students from the second year (2000/2001)

Using methods very similar to the determination of the diameter of the new planet, the distance from both moons to the planet were found to be

3,100 miles for the inner moon

and

6,200 miles for the outer moon.

These measurements were actually a major step towards eventually determining the mass and then the surface gravity of the new planet.
