MACHINE TOOL TECHNOLOGY

DESCRIPTION:
A program designed to teach the skills and knowledge required to obtain entry-level positions in the field of Machine Tool Technology. The curriculum offers the knowledge and skills necessary to obtain entry-level jobs in a variety of manufacturing environments as well as the potential to advance to supervisory, sales and training positions.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of 80 semester credits is required for graduation.

PROGRAM NOTES:

  1. For admission a student must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D. and the Physical ability to carry out normal activities. Previous experience CAN be evaluated upon entry into the program.
  2. Students are required to purchase a set of tools each semester at a cost of approximately $300.
  3. Any substitute must be approved by the department head.
  4. Machine Tool related courses must be taken in sequence.
  5. Transfer credit courses will be determined by department head.

  7. A GPA of at least 2.0 is required for graduation. For other graduation requirements see MTC catalogue.

  9. Students are required to purchase recommended tools during four (4) semesters of technology.
  10. Required attendance for all Machine Tool classes is 85%.
  11. Electives must be selected from the list of approved courses for the Machine Tool Technology program.
  12. Students meeting admissions requirements in Reading (ASSET 37 or COMPASS 67) may enter MTT courses.
  13. + 3.0 Hours of Print Reading is included in the combination of MTT 121, 122, and 253
