MACHINE TOOLDiploma Program (MTT1)

DESCRIPTION:
A program designed to teach the skills and knowledge required to obtain entry-level positions in the field of Machine Tool Technology. The curriculum is structured to offer students a number of options upon completion of the program in Machine Tool Operations in Computer Numerical Control. This diploma is the first year of the Associate Degree.

PLACEMENT TEST SCORES REQUIRED TO ENROLL IN CURRICULUM COURSES:
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of 45 semester credits is required for graduation.
PROGRAM NOTES:
- For admission a student must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D. and the Physical ability to carry out normal activities. Previous experience CAN be evaluated upon entry into the program.
- Any substitute must be approved by the department head.
- Machine Tool related courses must be taken in sequence.
- Transfer credit courses will be determined by department head.

- A GPA of at least 2.0 is required for graduation. For other graduation requirements see MTC catalogue.

- Students are required to purchase recommended tools during ALL semesters of technology.
- Required attendance for all Machine Tool classes is 85%.
- Electives must be selected from the list of approved courses for the Machine Tool Technology program.
- Students meeting admissions requirements in Reading (ASSET 37 or COMPASS 67) may enter MTT courses.
