Midlands Technical College's Business Department provides an innovative, up-to-date learning environment that enables individuals to achieve their personal, professional and educational goals for the purpose of contributing to the economic growth of the community. |
DESCRIPTION:
A program designed to prepare students for positions in product planning and merchandising, advertising, sales and sales promotion as well as other marketing positions.
NOTE: This program is not designed to transfer to senior colleges and universities although some courses may transfer.

PLACEMENT TEST SCORES REQUIRED TO ENROLL IN CURRICULUM COURSES:
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of 60 Semester hours is required for graduation.
- Students must earn a grade of "C" or better in all of the courses offered within the Business and Information Systems Technology departments for the course to count toward graduation. This includes courses with the following prefixes: ACC, BAF, BUS, CPT, CRP, IST, LEG, MGT, MKT and OST.
PROGRAM NOTES:
- This Program is not designed to transfer to senior colleges and universities although some individual courses may transfer. See your advisor about transfer.
- A student may substitute MAT 102 or a higher-level math for MAT 155.
- CPT 170 should be taken as early in sequence of courses as possible.
- At least one course must be taken from the list of approved Humanities courses.
- A general elective is any MTC course above a "100'' level that is not used elsewhere for this degree's requirements.
- Catalogue prerequisites are required before taking the upper level courses. Advisors should note one and two semester sequence of courses when scheduling students to be sure to allow enough semesters to cover courses in sequence.
- The student must earn a grade of "C" or better in business courses for these courses to count toward graduation.
