WorkKeys®, ACT's comprehensive system for improving the workforce, can serve as a rallying point for these efforts while helping strengthen the nation's economic health.

Using WorkKeys . . .

  • Employers can identify and develop workers for a wide range of skilled jobs.
  • Students and workers can document and advance their employability skills.
    • Communication Skills
    • Problem Solving Skills
    • Interpersonal Skills

WorkKeys® assessments give students and workers reliable information about their workplace skill levels. Combined with information about skill levels required for jobs, assessment information can enable users to make better career and educational decisions.

Each workplace skill assessed is described by a distinct skill scale. The scales were developed with the help of educators and business people. They encompass a range of skills, from the lowest level for which employers have a job or are willing to test up to the point at which specialized training is needed.

Some WorkKeys assessments are administered through traditional paper-based testing, others incorporate the use of audio or video presentations, and some are administered via computer-based testing. Selected assessments are also available in Spanish.
