Student Assessment
Helpful Information to know before taking the Computerized CLEP Test

  1. As you begin testing, the computerized exam is designed with several general information screens and a series of Tutorials. You may either work through the tutorials, or click on Exit or Go On to dismiss them. It is strongly suggested that examinees review the tutorials, which explain how to maneuver (How to Use Testing Tools) through the test.
  2. When testing, the tutorials are followed by background information questions which you may choose to answer or skip. You will be asked to confirm your choice if you elect to omit answering these questions.
  3. Once you begin the exam, on-line aids are available if aids are permitted for that exam. If permitted, the on-line aids are the only aids examinees are allowed to use, except for paper and pencils, which will be provided by the testing center.
  4. Each examinee is allocated 90 minutes to complete their examination. Following the exam, examinees are asked to respond to additional background and marketing information questions. The 90 minutes allowed for each test does not include the time needed to complete the tutorial and background questions.

NOTE: You will be given the option of having the examination scored or canceled. If you chose to cancel, the exam is not scored. However, the fee is still due to CLEP. If you chose to have the exam scored, you will receive a copy of your score before exiting the center and an official transcript will be sent to the institution of your choice as indicated.
