COURSE DESCRIPTION

  MAT 101 is a 3 credit hour course that includes the following topics: operations with signed numbers; addition, subtraction, multiplication and division with algebraic expressions; factoring; techniques for solving linear and fractional equations; and an introduction to graphing.

(Prerequisites: MAT 038, MAT 039 or MAT 100, RDG 035 or ESL 037 or equivalent placement test score)

 
         
         
 

COURSE ORIENTATION

(Not Required)

  The orientation for this course is not required.   It is scheduled only for students who have difficulty setting up their MyMathLab account (see link to instructions below).   The orientation session will be on the Airport Campus in Congaree Hall, room 117, on August 20 from 12:30-1:30 p.m.

The textbook for this course is Elementary and Intermediate Algebra, 2nd Edition, George Woodbury, Addison-Wesley, 2009.   This book will be packaged with a student Access Code for the MyMathLab tutorial and homework website.
