Information Systems Technology Syllabus
COURSE DESCRIPTION: Use an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) to create client applications for reading and editing server-hosted relational databases. Networking and server concepts will be explored. Client applications for accessing server-hosted Relational Data Base Management System (RDBMS) will be created.
STUDENT
COMPETENCIES: Upon successful completion of this course, the
student will be able to perform the following tasks: 1. Use deskcheck design logic to verify accuracy and document procedures in standard format 2. Communicate an understanding of basic operations and control structures 3. Understand and implement client-server applications based on the three-tier architecture of the Presentation Layer, Business Rules and Data Access Layer 4. Write programs using a modern programming platform to add, edit, and delete records from remote databases. 5. Write correct SQL queries based on required record set filters. 6. Bind objects to selected data controls for display of data to program user GRADING SCALE:
Academic

Please check frequently in changeable weather for closings and re-openings. If the College closing or reopening means that you will have at least 30 minutes of a class, you should come to class. Please do not call the IST Department office or the President’s office with closure questions. |
