COURSE DESCRIPTION: Students will learn basic skills and techniques in applying XML
(Extensible Markup Language) to the design and construction of data-driven web
sites as well as storing data in an XML format.
STUDENT COMPETENCIES:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to utilize
basic XML and affiliated principles and techniques to:

Create
an XML document.
2.
Bind
XML data with Internet Explorer.
3.
Create
a valid XML document.
4.
Work
with namespaces, schemas, and DTD’s.
5.
Work
with cascading style sheets.
6.
Work
with XSLT.
7.
Create
a Computational style sheet.
8.
Create
Element Groups.
9.
Extract
and process information from XML documents using Document Object Model (DOM).
10.
Work
with XSLT Elements and Attributes.
11.
Use
XPath Reference.

ACADEMIC INTEGRITY: Academic integrity questions should be resolved by consulting

ATTENDANCE POLICY:
Students may not miss more than 15% of scheduled classes, regardless of the
reason for the absence. After exceeding this limit, a student will be withdrawn
from the class by the instructor. Attendance will be taken at the
beginning of the class period. Students not answering to the roll call at
that time will be marked absent. Students arriving late may check-in with the
instructor after class in order to be marked tardy. Three marks of tardy will
count as one absence. Students are required to remain in class until class is
dismissed, and will otherwise be marked absent, unless prior arrangements are
made in advance with the instructor. Attendance records will not be changed
retroactively after the scheduled class meeting.
