Philip Mace joined the faculty
of the
Midlands Technical College Paralegal Program in 1989 after
teaching Family Law and Legal Systems for several years as an
adjunct instructor. He now teaches
Business
Law, Family
Law, Criminal
Law and Legal
Research courses. He also serves as faculty advisor to the
Student Paralegal Club.
Mr. Mace earned a law degree from the University of South Carolina
where he was a member of the Law Review and the Wig and Robe honor
society. He has been engaged in a general practice in Columbia with
an emphasis on domestic relations law. He is admitted to practice in
all South Carolina state courts, U.S. District Court and the U.S.
Fourth Circuit Court of
Appeals.
Mr. Mace received an undergraduate degree in journalism from the
University of Maine where he was the chief editor of the campus
newspaper. He worked on newspapers
in Maine, Mississippi and South Carolina, serving as editor of two
suburban newspapers in South Carolina, the Summerville
Scene and the James Island Journal, prior to going to
law
school.
