Course Description:  MGT 240
This course is the study of various structured approaches to managerial decision-making.  The student will apply knowledge acquired in previous course work.

 

Textbook: Strategy, 2008-2009, 1st edition by Ketchen/Eisner published by McGraw-Hill


COURSE OUTCOMES AND COMPETENCIES:

As part of the Business department’s ongoing student learning outcomes assessments activities the following outcomes and competencies have been developed for MGT 240:

 Intended Course Outcome #1: Students will demonstrate overall ability to think strategically about a company and its opportunities for gaining sustainable competitive advantage.

 Course Competency: Students will demonstrate overall ability to think strategically about a company and its opportunities for gaining sustainable competitive advantage by completing a case analysis project.

 Measurement Instrument: A rubric developed by the Management faculty based on the course learning objectives will be used to evaluate student’s projects each semester.

 Intended Course Outcome #2: Students will demonstrate overall knowledge of managerial tasks associated with implementing and executing company strategies.

 Course Competency: Students will demonstrate overall knowledge of managerial tasks associated with implementing and executing company strategies by completing a case analysis project.

 Measurement Instrument: A rubric developed by the Management faculty based on the course learning objectives will be used to evaluate student’s projects each semester.
