Resiliency and the College Experience

As we all know, college, like anything in life, is not always easy or a breeze that we quickly go through. There are always the ups the downs and the pros and the cons to life and particularly in college, but yet our attitudes must remain the same. Our mental attitudes towards college must ultimately be that of resiliency. In other words, if we fall down or fail at any goals we want to achieve, we without question must get back up. And notice “without question” we must get back up. Take it personal: If I fall and regardless of my failures, I will, “without question” get back up and continue to fight. I will continue to strive for excellence in my education. I will get my degree and be successful in life. In the classroom I will make A’s, I will be on time, I will study, and most of all I will never quit on my goals and dreams. Why? It’s because I (you) ultimately have an attitude of resiliency…an attitude that says we realize our greatest glory is not in ever falling, but in rising every time we fall.
