Why I Selected MTC

I must start off by saying that I primarily chose MTC because I had no idea of what career I wanted to pursue. Secondly, I also knew that MTC, when compared to other technical colleges, offers more in their two year program. With all this in mind, I also knew that the transfer program was great here, and as I’ve recently discovered, is steadily improving. I must give credit though to the advisors from MTC who made it their duty to visit my high school (Brookland-Cayce) and informed me about MTC and what it has to offer. This is where my decision in choosing MTC begins.

As mentioned earlier, the advisors constantly visited Brookland-Cayce, and this had a strong influence on my decision and perspective of MTC. The advisors were literally all I knew about MTC and funny to mention I knew the famous slogan which read, “You can get anywhere from here.” So as you can see, overall I knew very little about MTC, but with a positive portrait of MTC displayed everywhere I went, my decision in choosing MTC was almost inevitable. By the end of senior year, my decision was already made. To top things off, I knew some classmates who I believe were in the nursing program at MTC and they shared with me their experiences, which also had a profound effect on my decision.

So in conclusion, the reason why I selected MTC is simply because I had no idea of what career I wanted to pursue, I was strongly informed of the benefits at MTC, and through the help of advisors I viewed MTC as a positive step towards my future. In short, I started to realize that I can really get anywhere from here.
