Leigh Anne M. Leigh Anne M.

Well, let me start off by giving you a brief introduction. My name is Leigh Anne, and as of summer 2006 I am in my third semester at Midlands Technical College. I am 25 years old and a single mother. I attend MTC full time, and I work in the evenings after school at a local daycare to cover the costs of my daughter’s childcare while I am at school. I also am a member of two different honor societies at MTC, and I try to be involved with them as much as possible. I am also in the process of applying to the Ambassador program here at MTC.

So, to say that my life can be a little bit hectic at times is definitely an understatement. However, I have discovered through this whole process that it is possible for anyone, who is willing to put in the time and effort to attend school, to excel. I have always considered myself to be somewhat of an overachiever. Yes, I was the one in school that might have been called the class nerd and I was proud of it. I excelled through high school and went on to attend Coastal Carolina University the semester after I graduated. A word of advice, never send your children away to school at the beach when they are eighteen years old. Needless to say I did not last but one year there, and then I came back home to Lexington. Life progressed, things happened as they tend to and my education got pushed to the back burner. In 2004 my daughter was born and I thought I might as well take my education completely off the stove.
